It very quickly become clear that the name of this Chilean foursome is well chosen. Bruto is and sounds like a brutish stoner overlord that simply enjoys every brutal sound that he can make while enjoying his favorite meal and drinks. For on their self-titled debut effort the four amigos slay all the simple melody minions with true fuzzy aggressiveness. Or as they like to call it themselves: Fuzzgressive. They’re sweating blood and every note played has this double-edge power sword in hand. It not only kills with intense rhythms, gravelly riffs and bulldozing drums but also with sheer and almost illimitable force. There is little room for anything else but that distorted metal sound we all love so dearly. So put on Bruto and prepare to be leveled by nine tracks of almost barbaric intensity. Viva a los nuevos reyes de la brutalidad!
